CCD's 1st Annual 5K a Spookatcular Success!

Oct 25, 2021

Community Collaboration of Delaware's 1st Annual "Spooktacular" Race for Recovery, a family-friendly 5K walk/run, held on Friday, 10/22/21, at St. Peter the Apostle School in New Castle, DE was a huge success!

130 people signed up to walk/run through the beautiful streets of Historic New Castle to support a great cause. Some attendees even dressed up in costumes to show their Halloween spirit. In total, CCD raised over $25,000 from the many generous event sponsorships and race registrations. We are so thankful for all of the event sponsors who helped make this event an evening to remember!

The proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards supporting our C.A.R.E. (Community Advocacy, Recovery Empowerment) Program that provides care and case management to individuals as they move through the various stages of recovery from a Substance Use Disorder. This fundraiser will also support our youth prevention program, HOPE (Healthy Options for Prevention Education), that will help us plant the seeds of prevention for the next generation of Delaware's youth. For updates on these two programs, and the many other initiatives that CCD supports, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram @communitycollbde. We are excited to see everyone at the 2nd Annual Spooktacular Race for Recovery 5K Walk/ Run in October 2022!
