Community Collaboration at Work!

Mar 29, 2021

This all day project allowed the time for individuals from different backgrounds to share real life experiences and talk about solutions to the drug epidemic.

On Friday, March 26th, 2021, our organization had a great opportunity to put our mission to work by collaborating with the State of Delaware Probation & Parole-Adult, Phoenix Used Clothing, and Forget Me Not Families for an all day community service project.

Throughout the day, the academy class for Probation and Parole worked hand in hand with individuals in the CCD CARE (Community Advocacy & Recovery Empowerment) Program, who are recovering from a substance use disorder, to help organize, clean up, and clean out two nonprofit storage facilities. Probation and Parole also helped clean up the Lt. Joseph L. Szczerba Memorial Park, located in New Castle, DE.

This all day project allowed the time for individuals from different backgrounds to share real life experiences and talk about solutions to the drug epidemic. It’s our belief that this is how we can begin to “plant the seeds” of social change for those who have been impacted by the disease of addiction.

A big #CCDcares THANK YOU to everyone who helped facilitate this event, including the support received from New Castle City Police Department. We look forward to creating more of these opportunities for community collaboration moving forward! #ThinkBOLD #Community #Collaborate
