Free Narcan® (Naloxone) Training and Distribution in Delaware

The SAVE Program (Safety, Awareness, Vital Education) is Community Collaboration of Delaware’s comprehensive Narcan training and distribution initiative. SAVE provides free Narcan training, free Narcan kits, and free Narcan delivery to individuals, families, organizations, and community groups throughout Delaware. Our goal is to increase overdose awareness, expand access to life saving medication, and strengthen community readiness to respond to opioid overdoses.

CCD offers all SAVE services at no cost to ensure that Narcan is accessible to anyone who needs it.

Free Narcan Training in Delaware

SAVE provides accessible, evidence informed training sessions that teach participants how to:

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose

  • Administer Narcan safely and effectively

  • Take critical steps while waiting for emergency responders

  • Reduce stigma and promote safety in their communities

Training is available for individuals, families, workplaces, community organizations, schools, faith-based groups, and public events. CCD tailors each session to meet the needs of the audience and offers flexible scheduling at convenient locations across Delaware.

Free Narcan Kits for All Participants

Each person who completes training receives a free Narcan kit, ensuring they are fully equipped to respond during an overdose emergency. Kits are provided on-site during training and include everything needed to administer Narcan quickly and correctly.

Free Narcan Delivery Across Delaware

In addition to training, CCD offers free Narcan delivery for individuals and families who cannot attend an in-person session or who need Narcan urgently. Community members can request Narcan kits for delivery directly to their home or preferred location, free of charge.

This service expands access to life saving medication and ensures that transportation, scheduling challenges, or mobility issues do not prevent someone from obtaining Narcan.

Flexible, Community-Centered Training Sessions

The SAVE Program provides overdose response training across Delaware, including:

  • Onsite training for employers and employee groups

  • Training for nonprofit organizations, service providers, and community partners

  • Sessions for schools, youth programs, and parent groups

  • Partnerships with events, community centers, and local gatherings

CCD will work with you to schedule a training session at a date, time, and location that works best for your group.

Why the SAVE Program Matters

Delaware continues to face high rates of opioid overdoses, making access to Narcan and overdose education more critical than ever. The SAVE Program increases community safety by:

  • Expanding access to overdose reversal medication

  • Empowering individuals with practical, confidence-building skills

  • Reducing stigma surrounding substance use

  • Strengthening community preparedness and harm reduction efforts

By equipping residents with life saving tools and education, CCD helps prevent overdose deaths and promotes health, dignity, and well-being across the state.
